Listened 11/08/25 morning 2/5 Expected 1960s folk, but oh how I was wrong. This album wasn’t my thing, felt very show-tuney. Nice to listen to once but probably not again. Highlights were: the confession and the poverty train. Felt I was kept on my feet with the album due to changes in key and melody, I never settled in listening to this. I agree with another review which states her voice kept switching from annoying to beautiful. Maybe it could grow on me.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Aug 13 2025

12/08/25 afternoon 4/5 Went into this not recognising or knowing the album at all, but had high hopes due to it being by Fleetwood Mac. Highlights of the album were 'Over & over' and 'Sara' specifically due to my affinity for the guitar. This is a double album, and whereas my interest would usually be kept I felt it waning as the album dragged on a bit. I particularly enjoyed the vocals and guitar. Whilst the album is experimental in nature, I still was able to sit in and relax in the music without feeling like I was being thrown about between songs.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Aug 14 2025

13/03/25 - morning 4.5/5 When I saw that today's album was the Low End Theory, I immediately knew I was in for a treat. As a well established fan, I believe their work to be the magnum opus of 90s hip hop. Highlights from this album include 'Jazz (we've got)', 'Buggin' out', and 'check the rhime'. The flow and lyricism is one component which makes this album work so so well. And a moment for the album design which is simple, yet so effective. Devastatingly cool and smooth (to use another reviewer's words), this is an album I expect to find myself replaying time and time again

Low by David Bowie
Aug 15 2025

15/05/25 - afternoon 4/5 I missed reviewing yesterday due to it being results day - I got into my desired uni for anyone reading. Anyway, seeing David Bowie as the day's album got me excited. I had not heard of this album before or any of the songs on it, overall I really enjoyed the tracks on the first half. The second half escaped my interest. From Warszawa It seemed to become a experimental conceptual free for all. Which I would have usually liked if it hadn't have come out of nowhere. Highlights of the album were the 1st track (loved the instrumental), 2nd track and 'always crashing into the same car'. However, the weird beeping on the 3rd track annoyed me. Some of these tracks will definitely be added to my regular playlists. This album would have easily been 5 stars if side 2 were different.

Aug 16 2025

15/08/25 - evening 5/5 Proper indie sleaze, no notes. First album ive been given that I've already listen to in full and love. Fake tales of San Francisco is for sure the best on here. Love these Sheffield lads. messy, raw and amazing

Aug 17 2025

16/08/25 - morning 3.5/5 Big fan of nothing compares 2 u and the tracks at either side of it. I found some of the lyricism to be moving. However, the album did not take up that much with me.

The Hour Of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy
Aug 18 2025

17/08/25 - evening 4.5/5 Kind of magical. Just what I needed tonight. I discovered my favourite song yet from the 1001 albums - Everybody's stalking. Epitaph and fell in a river were other highlights from the album. I feel as though badly drawn boy is the British indie equivalent to Elliot Smith. Easy, pleasant and chill listening. Very happy with my new discovery :) I had always been familiar due to their work on about a boy's soundtrack but never actually ventured to listen to the stuff. I'm glad I did.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Aug 19 2025

18/08/25 - morning 5/5 I'll start it off with I wanna be adored is one of my all time top favourite songs ever. It is one of the strongest starts to an album I have heard. This whole record is an absolute classic. Easy 5 stars

Aug 20 2025

19/08/25 not my favourite of all pink Floyd ever but still good. Nothing will beat the dark side of the moon. 3/5

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Aug 21 2025

20/08/25 4/5 perfect introduction to jazz
