There's A Riot Goin' On
Sly & The Family Stone
Straight up goated with the sauce. Extremely formative album for what was to come of funk. Sly shows his serious multi instrumental talent along with his dark powerful songwriting. The bass work and recording are the highlights for me.The psych influence is written on its sleeve in the dopest way possible. Extremely nostalgic for me in the mid summer of 2018 when I was spinning this plate on the table constantly.

Fiona Apple
I get it—Fiona Apple is great. Her voice is beautiful, her lyrical craftsmanship is sharp, and the production—on this album and everything else I’ve heard—is ingeniously polished. But for whatever reason, I never get hooked. The highlight of this album for me was the pedal steel slides, though I’m admittedly a sucker for that shit. Maybe one day I’ll be in the right mood and her prose will hit me like a ton of bricks and I'll be hooked (hooks is what this is all missing). Once again, today just wasn’t that day.

Physical Graffiti
Led Zeppelin
Doesn't hit nearly as hard as it once did. Amazing album but wtf. Am I spoiled? Felt bored most of the time. Picked up a bit at the end and on the second listen. I think anytime I listen to Zeppelin I just want it to be as hard and raw as 1 and I'm not completely stroked to max satisfaction.
Fav track- in my time of dying

OutKast
I always have said I just don't like Outkast. The album grew on me for sure. It was way too long but as soon as "my favorite thing" got in I was like I GET IT NOW
