The Sounds Of India
Ravi ShankarReally enjoyed the discussion of how the songs are structured, made it fun to follow along.

Tell Me Why and Birds were my favorite songs. I’m a sucker for piano and any harmonized singing. I was struck by the variety of musical styles, I feel like the album changed so much from song to song.
I liked this more than I thought I would. I appreciate all the thought going into a concept album, but I did find it a bit long overall. Interesting time to be listening to this, with a fascist in the White House.
This was really fun! Short and sweet, lots of songs about dances and sweethearts. I had never heard of Solomon Burke before, but you can definitely tell his influence on R&B/Soul.
Enjoyed this a lot, love how they shuffle instruments and vocals so often. Ended up watching The Last Waltz after listening to this
Never really connected with this
Catchy but not something I would revisit
Super fun album. Hadn’t ever listened to a Beck album the whole way through. Will revisit this one
Enjoyed, wish there was a decimal system because this was closer to a 4 star for me. A little repetitive but might need to relisten
Almost sounded like video game music. Another where I wish there were decimals, would have this closer to a 4
I likes the messaging behind the songs, but the format wasn’t exactly for me
