Pros: - I really like the energy! Feels positive and upbeat. - It has skater music vibe, easy to get into. Cons: - You heard one song, you heard them all. None of the songs really stand out of the rest, for me. - Actually not the biggest fan of the vocal.
Finally, something I recognize! Give Me All Your Lovin' is a song I heard frequently in the radio. It has this very snappy feel to it. Energetic, but classy. First album I would actually want to relisten c:
I sadly lost my notes, but just quickly - the intro song and Disposable Heroes rock, and I'm pleasantly surprised how interesting the songs are. Definitely relistening this one
Immediately I'm intrigued. It sounds experimental, yet warm. What a wonderful first song to set the mood - Intro is just such a nice start. The calm, soft synth notes. Instantly, the world around doesn't matter - i'm so curious what's next. Not sure what language is this, but the tone matches the song well. It's incredibly immersive, captivating even. I wish I knew what they were singing, but it feels like wrapping me in a blanket of chords. I think the theme may be conception, given the muffled sounds, long chords, or heartbeat-like rhythms. And the album cover, of course. It may feel a bit too much... self-loving? I mean, the music feels even a bit TOO heavenly and serene, like it wants to be the sounds of Heaven itself. But frankly? I don't care. It's such a relaxing vibe. I really want to listen to it again after all that. All the flutes, saxes, violins, guitars... it's a spiritual experience of an album. I know I wouldn't be able to listen to it everyday, but darn. It's great.
While upbeat, it feels little repetitive. The vocals are a bit droning. I guess that's another album that demands you to focus on the lyrics and their context? either that, or this type of rock is just kinda outdated. It's... kinda boring. :( Ok, Tonight was kinda nice. Was it covered by Tina Turner later? I do have to say, my feet are tapping to the beat. The songs ARE catchy. OK. Turn Blue is AMAZING. I love this vibe. It actually caught my interest again. ...but the rest of the songs are still just not my type.
No. Just no. It's making me cringe so hard. It's peak boomer rock and I can't listen to it. Couldn't finish it. Bleh.
What a pleasant little album. It's really great as background music, and the vocals are warm and clear. I liked the lyrics as well. It might not be the most vibrant of albums here, but it is simply very nice to listen to, and I wish to listen to it again soon. And that's the most important thing, isn't it?
Le Freak is pretty iconic, yeah. The rest of the album is... surprisingly forgettable, sadly. I think it's nice lounge music, but it's unremarkable in its constantly repeating rhythms and lyrics. I wouldn't mind it in the background - but as a standalone activity, listening to this album is rather boring in my opinion. Disappointing, really.
Groovy! That was a pretty nice experience. I liked the classic Sonic SFX and contemporary slang terms in the lyrics - but it's really just an another pleasant, vibe-full album. Def worth listening to again c:
