Great electro pop, their 2nd album was better though

Bjork's singular talent shines through, but nearly every track on this album is available in a superior remixed form by the likes of Underworld, Sabres of Paradise and Fluke, which makes this album sound like a demo tape.

A genuine classic debut. The End is the highlight, but the whole album is full of character.

Very 1990 but has an agreeable dreamy quality, and explains to me what Liz Fraser was sought after by Massive Attack and Future Sound of London.

I knew three songs from this really well but had never listened to it before, it's great. Consistent drunk blues rock throughout

Brilliant sleeve and 'mood', and some brilliant tracks (espcially New Dawn Fades'), but it isn't a patch on their second album.

Nice warm production and Q-Tip's enjoyingly laconic rapping

The moment R.E.M. went major, in more ways than one. Most memorable for 'Orange Crush', but there are lots of other memorable tunes on it.

Really good. What a wonderful voice Curtis has, the grooves are super laid back too.

Stunning album of dub-infused electronica. At times stark and apparently simple, at other times haunting and complex. Pretty much every Warp Record release in 1994 was amazing.

My favourite Flaming Lips album, the deeper cuts hit as hard as the well known tracks
