The Beach Boys Today! by The Beach Boys
Aug 21 2025

Much slower and more boring than I was hoping for. I like their more surf-y songs and this album had only a couple. I can see why our moms liked them.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Aug 27 2025

I can see how it would be enjoyable live, the appeal is that you already know the songs and see what extra instrumentation they add. It's perfectly fine blues rock that can be left on in the background of my office and no one would complain. Would I actively choose to listen to it again? Likely no.

The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
Aug 28 2025

Within the first 2 songs I was locked in for a 1, but it kinda grew on me, definitely musically and a little bit lyrically. I think I would listen to this again before the Allman Brothers album. The frontman is clearly just ad-libbing for most songs, but also shows some vulnerbility and honesty. His voice is definitely awful. I'm unsure why his bandmates didn't veto him to be the singer when they first heard notes come out of his mouth. Also, very much reminds me of a poor man's the Doors, wonder who came first?

Arrival by ABBA
Sep 09 2025

Guilty pleasure, ngl. Subject matter is a little questionable, but i'm here for those sweet harmonies.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Sep 16 2025

Chill but too repetitive for me to really like it. Can certainly put it on in the background as jazz filler, not groundbreaking but also not exciting.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Oct 16 2025

The last of Roadiohead's rock sound, I miss it dearly.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Nov 12 2025

Transformational. Opened my 12 year old eyes to the world of rock music.

Sea Change by Beck
Dec 11 2025

Incredibly chill banger of an album, hits a perfect blend of sad and powerful, causes instant reflection
