1001 Albums Summary

First time listening to Alice in chains (at least systematically - entire album at once). Intriguing rock album with some pieces almost drifting into different genres. Overall it’s good ole hard rock, with tasty solos and riffs that bring a metal flavor at times. Some of the tracks had hints of blues, and some had prog vibes. Not sure at which label/studio the album was recorded and mastered at, but it quickly struck how well it was done, with crystal clear overdriven leads and very nice stage separation. Very cool sound overall, but tends to be somewhat agressive given the mediumish tempo of most tracks, requiring a certain mood to be listened 😅 Fav tracks: Them Bones, Rain when I die, Dirt

Great music for skating (I don’t skate)

One of my favorite LP albums. This one and Meteora are the essential LP sound to me, bringing together rock/metal and rap in the formative years of nu metal. Fav tracks: Forgotten, One Step Closer, A Place For My Head, Runaway Interestingly enough fan favorite In the End is probably the least strong track for me. Don’t remember anymore but possibly I have listened it to the point of exhaustion many years ago

Coldplay

Great fusion album. Great vibes, but can feel a bit too much and nauseous here and there (high paced 3min sax solos)
