Tellin’ Stories
The CharlatansHad never heard this group before. Lots to appreciate. The arrangements are interesting, the grooves feel good. What a great band. Looks like I have a lot to catch up on in their catalog!

This, for me, is "difficult... listening... hour" to quote Laurie Anderson but I listen to difficult music sometimes and appreciated this suggestion.
Easy to love this album. She's a wonderful vocalist, the songs are beautiful, and I love a stand up bass.
Jesus. The best thing I can say about Bob is that he is more poet than musician, though poets might take issue with that.
I loved this album when it came out. Years later I now notice some things I don't care for, that it sounds like it was the product of many hours obssessing in a studio rather than a group of musicians collaborating and also that many of the sounds are electronic. Worthy of the list but not so much to my taste these days.
Whenever I hear reggae I find myself wondering how inebriated does one have to be to enjoy this? That said, this album is better than most in the genre.
No melodies, no hooks, no feeling, flat lyrics, robotic rhythms... I'm curious to read the positive reviews to hear what people like about this.
A for effort. Interesting musical ideas in a symphonic/opera meets metal kinda way. I appreciate their boldness and originality. Parts of it remind me of Kate Bush's Hounds of Love from 1985.
Not a genre I am familiar with but I enjoyed this album. Some neat bass lines and the lyrics made me laugh.
