Zoo Station was completely forgettable. Even Better than the Real Thing is something that would make sense in a tv show or movie, moments of catchiness but not outstanding.
One is a well written lyrically song, but I really hate the performance. I have heard covers that I like a lot more. Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses is familiar, it’s not impressive or exciting musically, but again the lyrics are good. I think the best song on the album is Mysterious Ways.
I actually really like this album - it’s very obviously red hot chili pepper, it’s certainly the sound I recognize by them. I think there’s a good variety of types of songs. I didn’t expect porcelain - it very obviously has a serious subject matter and the music behind the lyrics reflects that, it still has the same hectic vibe as the rest of the album but it has more care. A lot of the songs seem to have the depressive undertones, the lyrics feel very real and raw and are relatable for me - whether they are relatable to the more mentally stable, I don’t know. But those feeling distant and disconnected can feel connected from this album.
I like lucky man and deep freeze, bittersweet Symphony, and the drugs don’t work. For neon wilderness and some of the music was a little too industrial feeling for me, but when there is more of a Melody in the music, I enjoyed it.
Sign O the times, the title track, was more than I expected - good for prince for being edgy. Housequake was a fever dream. So was Starfish and Coffee, but I kinda dig that one. Forever in my life was a nice, normal prince song that I enjoyed. I don’t know what he was trying to do with this album honestly. Glad I listened to it - but please don’t make me do that again
This album for me is one of the best Fleetwood Mac albums, think about me, Sara, what makes you think you’re the one, storms, sisters of the moon, that’s enough for me, brown eyes, I know I’m not wrong. All incredible songs. We get to hear more of the band taking a spotlight rather than in rumours where it was largely Lindsey and Stevie. The tusk sound carried through a few of the songs and it is quite groovy, they were right for Ledge to come first, so when you get to tusk, it’s a call back to that same groove and storyline
I love CCR and though SOME people don’t get the 7 minute jam sessions, I enjoyed all 33 minutes of this album!
I liked this album, I had only heard Psycho Killer before, but I enjoyed Don’t Worry about the Government and first week/ last week… carefree. It was upbeat and danceable.
I liked her voice, the songs weren’t as politically charged as I expected them to be. I enjoyed listening to her and wish I had the time to just sit and do that as the activity. I particularly enjoyed wildhood flower and her version of “girl of constant sorrow”.
The album started out fun and felt like it got more and more underground as we went. It was fine until the happy end and then it just got strange. Not a fan.
I love Boston. I love this sound they have that makes the song become a memory. I love that they can make you feel like you’re reminiscing the most important things. I love their love songs being focused on making the other person happy and the other persons affect on themselves too. I like that twirly guitar riff they use throughout their music. The songs are basic and easy to remember but their lyrics still feel complex enough to be meaningful music. A good mix of love songs and just having a good time, and just wanting to exist. Of course I like more than a feeling, peace of mind, and foreplay/long time. I enjoyed every song, and liked something about you. It was different enough but still had that generally happy feelings behind it.
I would probably enjoy a live show, I can see the crowd adding to the experience- I did not like listening to this album. It was a lot going on, not relaxing at all.
I have no problems with this album. I actually really enjoyed it. My favorite were Bold as Love, One Rainy Wish, and Little Miss Lover. I liked the mix of tempo throughout the album and I think it’s interesting how one song can change so many times. I like that he builds a lot of anticipation in his music.
I never gave this kind of music much of a chance, I listened to the album twice, and I really like it. The music is so interesting and full, without the words it’s written well enough to convey emotions so strongly, and when we add the lyrics back in, it only makes it stronger. I have heard versions of It Had To Be You before, I do love that song and his version was just as beautiful. I enjoyed the second half of the album more than the first. Reflective and wishful music. You Won’t Let Me Go, Tell Me You’ll Wait For Me, I really enjoyed those both. And the songs that came after just continued those same feelings. If you are looking to get into your feelings, this album is very good for that!
It was great background music, it was up beat and had the constant high hat to keep pace. If I sat down and listened to it, you could feel excitement and slow downs into sad reflective moments. Not something I’m incredibly interested in and kind of made my heart feel funny, like it was rushing a bit
