1001 Albums Summary

Not bad. A little same-y. Pleasant guitar work. “Green Rocky Road” was way different from the Van Ronk version.

Pretty interesting uses of stereo - a relic of the time, I suppose. Some nice guitar on some songs, but the piano and vocals are obviously at the forefront. Was “Time of the Season” a single? If so, it seems like a weird choice!

Not a fan of this one. I like Back to Black, but that album skews more pop than jazz. I feel like there are too many vocal flourishes here, and maybe a different producer would help rein that in some.

Fine, but not my thing.

Funky, but I don’t love the concept since it’s a soundtrack album. Not sure how I feel about Blaxploitation as a genre.
