1001 Albums Summary

I've heard Tutti Frutti before and it reminds me of the movie about Frankie Lyman because Little Richard was in that movie. When I was listening to True, Fine Mama, it reminded me of that old southern gospel. After listening to the entire album I really felt like I was transported to a 1950's juke joint.

I will say this is an album I probably would've never listened to without this generator. I never thought Steely Dan would be my type of music. But I listened to the album all the way through and loved every song! Even made a new playlist to put all the song on. I love the 70's era and this album just encapsulates that era. I love the long instrumentals. I can't help but want to use the word groovy when listening to this album. While I was listening to the album I felt peace and chillness and alot of reflecting happening. All that to say I LOVE THIS ALBUM!

I will preface my notes on this album with the fact that I am a millennial and when I was younger I was totally into the emo bands like Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco, My Chemical Romance, etc....I never got into Nine Inch Snails and apparently I still cannot. I tried very hard to get through this album, but I found it to be a little too dark and honestly VERY creepy. It's just not my cup of tea. On to the next one.

I had not listened to Isaac Hayes until now, and I personally have a bias towards any music created in the 60s and 70s, but this was not one of my favs. I like 2 songs enough to put them on a playlist, but I also do not want to take away from the fact that Isaac Hayes was amazing. This album just didn't do it for me.

This album wasn't very easy to get through for me. But I literally found myself trying to like something from each song and found myself drawn to their more clearly country - esque songs. I loved the harmonies and vibe of Rocking Chair. My rating is what it is because I'm sure people who love this type of music love this album, I would just say it is not one of my favorites.

Once again, an album I never ever would have listened to if it were not for this generator. I was shocked that I liked most of the songs. Normally I listen to songs that I myself would cover vocally...these rock/folk ish albums I have been getting hit me in a different way. This one in particular made me feel like I was laying in the grass in the 70's just chillin and thinking about life. It just gave me a sense of peace. So overall, a very good surprise album!

Absolutely could not do this. I have been listening to alot of music outside of my genre and really pushing through the albums but this one...I absolutely cannot lol I now assume that they are called the Talking heads because they talk through music? Once again, I'm sure for lovers of this genre of music this is a great album, but I must move on. If music makes me angry it is not for me lol
