1001 Albums Summary

4/10 - Not my style, but not bad. Being called “desert blues” I can see how it would be best fit to listen to on a walk-through west Africa. The band being from Mali and singing in Songhai seems fitting, although it’s not my cup of tea, it was quite a pleasant an unique listen.

'We are the robots' sounds like something a fifth-grader could've made, no offense but the repetition is just hm. 'Metropolis' has a nice beat which I could see myself playing in the background fx while reading, as it is simultaneously soothing and tense. 'model' is also good, except for the one long shrilling note at the end

Overall a great album - every song brings something unique, contributing to the collective vibe of the album. The sound and style feels very familiar, seeing as it played a big role in later music, it's clear there are some echoes of Nirvana and Radiohead. To me it's like a more upbeat version of car seat headrest - both spiraling and melancholic

Really liked this album. The vibe of the album was overall sombre yet lively, making for a really nice reading playlist - read both JJK and Earthsea, which also shows its diverse track.

Haven't listened to a lot of T. Rex but I must say I'm pleased. The album met my expectations of 70's glam rock, alike artists like Bowie. Being introduced to T. Rex 'Solid Gold Easy Actions' through tcoptp, this brings about it a cozy and familiar vibe. I particularly like 'get it on' and 'hot love - a side'

Funky, yet enticing album, which is rather jazzy and alive in a way that makes it familiar. Despite only containing 5 tracks, it manages to take up a bit over an hour of listening.

This album feels like a declaration of love, with both yearning, desperation and melancholy. I actually fell asleep to this, meaning it was soothing and calm.

Imagine if country met rock and you'll get this album - not bad, just not something I'd find myself listening to again
