The Temptations
Well I am doing my thing. I'll be rating every record I rank on here on the Dilworth 19 scale (19 being the best 1 the worst). The Temptations are not a band I have ever sought out before. I'm not versed in R&B, and I'm not a very funky guy. This album, however, was great. A really strong start to this for me, and for sure something I would have probably never listened to if I hadn't been told to do this. "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" was 11 minutes of, electric drama? Sure we'll go with that. If I found this while crate digging I would pick it up, and I'd spin it for sure. 13/19

White Blood Cells
The White Stripes
"Dead Leaves on The Dirty Ground" was one of the first songs I learned on guitar. I think when it comes to The White Stripes, White Blood Cell and Elephant are near perfect records, and an argument could be made that either is better than the other. I was so into this record in high school. Listened to it constantly, bought it on iTunes. The guitar work is simple, and the drums are simple, and it just rocks. This is some of, if not the finest garage rock of the last 30 years. Unapologetically Detroit. "The Union Forever" is the reason I became obsessed with Citizen Kane for a bit there. 17/19

Van Halen
Jesus I haven't listened to this in a long time. I forgot the song "Top Jimmy" even exists. What a freaking banger. Honestly this album was so popular, every single song is pretty much on the radio every day. It's basically a Van Halen greatest hits CD. This still isn't my favorite Van Halen record. Fair Warning holds that honor. Hard to not love 30 minutes of good old fashioned hard rocking. 15/19

Blunderbuss
Jack White
Yeah I don't like this as much as The White Stripes. I think this might have been Jack White at his most annoying. 10/19

Sea Change
Beck
This hardly feels essential? This feels like Beck said, I wanna make a Radiohead record and tried to do that and accidentally made a Flaming Lips record but it was boring. I'm not a beck fan. How many albums does he have on here? 7/19

Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin has a near perfect discography. This record is incredible. "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" has always been the stand out for me. 18/19

It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back
Public Enemy
Great record. Probably the best album I've listened to on this journey so far. Just an all around great hip hop record with a political punch to the gut. 18/19
