C'est Chic by CHIC
Oct 16 2025

Overall: 3/5 A disco funk album full of groovy tunes and soulful guitar work. "Le Freak" is the standout track, while instrumental track "Savoir Faire" demonstrates the band's musicianship. Guaranteed to lift your spirits, but some songs to tend to drag on for a while with the same repeated rhythm and vocals. Chic Cheer - 2.5/5 Le Freak - 5/5 Savoir Faire - 4.5/5 Happy Man - 3.5/5 I Want Your Love - 4.5/5 At Last I Am Free - 3/5 Sometimes You Win - 2.5/5 (Funny) Bone - 2/5

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Oct 17 2025

Overall score: 2/5 I get that this album is a classic, but I find that it just kind of drifts into the background. Some great jamming and musician ship throughout the album, but it gets to the point where it feels like I've listened to a never-ending guitar solo or horn section. It would be a great album to see live, but it's not something I'd return to.
