Deloused in the Comatorium
The Mars Volta
didn't love it, but didn't hate it. The drums impressed me most, very precise and punchy with a lot of technical skill and complexity. I didn't really care for the vocals, as they had that kind of affected accent used in a lot of emo and punk songs. Taking into account that this isn't a genre I'd normally be into, it's pretty good and I don't regret checking it out, but I won't be listening to it again soon.

Electric Ladyland
Jimi Hendrix
an obvious classic, I heard most of these songs when I was very young and liked them quite a lot, although I haven't found much reason to revisit them as I've been more focused on discovering new sounds since then. I like the extended version of Voodoo Chile and Crosstown Traffic brings back memories. I wouldn't call anything here dated, but at the same time it's very much of its time, particularly the lyrics and vocal style.

Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath
another classic, and one that I also listened to often when I was younger. There isn't a single song here that I can't remember in its entirety. These have aged much better for me than most other classic rock songs. The tone is unmatched and this is easily one of the most influential albums of the 20th century, essentially creating multiple entire genres that would follow.
