Peter Gabriel by Peter Gabriel
Nov 04 2025

Solid album but nothing to write home about. Other than a few standouts it’s just really not that memorable, especially when compared to other art rock classics from the same year like ‘Low’ or ‘Animals.’ Do you need to hear this before you die? Not really. Favs: Moribund The Burgermeister- Didn’t expect to be rocking this hard. Gets weird too which I like. Solsbury Hill- Timeless classic and the albums only ‘must-hear’. The “grab your things I’ve come to take you home” line hits me in the feels every time. Slowburn- Nothing special about this song I just like it. Here Comes The Flood- Pink Floyd-esque arena rock. Ends the album on a strong note. Least Favs: Excuse Me- Oompa Loompa-ass song. Waiting For The Big One- Not interesting enough to warrant being seven minutes.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Nov 05 2025

Fun songs with lots of energy. Reminds me of The Jam or a punkier version of the Kinks. It really dips for me in the second half tho. They try to go for a spacier vibe but the songs aren’t really that memorable and it kills the pacing. It’s like they discovered weed half way through making this album. Not essential listening but still a good time. Favs: I’d Like To Know- Super high energy and the organ reminds me of Elvis Costello. Alright- One of the best pop songs of the 90s. Least Favs: We’re Not Supposed To- Discount Ween. Time- Boring.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Nov 07 2025

Great album if you like moaning. Favs: Pyramid Song- I like how the piano part sounds super disjointed until the drums come in and make it make sense. Strings sound Beatlesy. One of their best songs. I Might Be Wrong- Sexy bass. Life In a Glasshouse- I’m a sucker for funeral jazz. Least Favs: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors- Instrumental is very cool but Thom sounds like a depressed Crazy Frog.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow

Good album but didn’t really stick with me. Needs another listen. Favs: What Does Your Soul Look Like, Pt. 4 Midnight in a Perfect World Least Favs: Stem / Long Stem

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Nov 10 2025

Solid but kinda by-the-numbers sounding for this style and era. Favs: Black Mirror Ocean of Noise The Well and the Lighthouse Least Favs: Keep the Car Running- I’m so sick of this chord progression, feels like every single one of these bands does it.

Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
Nov 12 2025

Bossa nova is enjoyable by design so this is definitely a good album. It’s not really that memorable tho aside from a few catchy hooks. Inessential but nice to have on. Favs: Close Your Eyes

Seventh Tree by Goldfrapp
Nov 14 2025

Cool mix of folk and electronics. Reminds me of Beth Gibbons solo or Air. Enjoyed the more psych-poppy songs but was pretty bored with the more downtempo stuff. Favs: Clowns Little Bird Happiness Least Favs: A&E- Bit cheesy. Some People- Boring.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
