Water From An Ancient Well
Abdullah Ibrahimsome good classic jazz, a bit more laid-back than mingus but not 'easy-listening' by any means. I would actually rate this closer to a 3.5

I think it's so interesting that this is getting recommended to me rn as I'm currently obsessed with Elliott Smith despite being previously unimpressed by his work. Happy coincidence :) However, I definitely prefer his other albums. Solid 3, fav track: can't make a sound
I like the beastie boys in theory, but the backing tracks on these songs are really lacking. Obviously Fight For Your Right and No Sleep Till Brooklyn were good, but the rest was mid as hell... the song girls (regardless of it being satire or not) was so bad.... like if you're going to make a 'misogynist anthem' at least make it sound good. Anyways I was optimistic going into it but this is definitely a 1 star
I really liked this actually lol. It's very clear that this is an influential album, I could hear a lot of sonic elements that I've seen other bands replicate. big ska vibes which I loved (I'm assuming this predates ska but I'm more familiar with that genre). and it's dang good too. 5 stars!
An album that, despite its occasional 'iconic' track, fails to impress. It's so easy is a domestic abuse anthem? I'm mad at this album for making me question if I even like classic rock.
A fun lighthearted album that shows why Michael was the goat </3
