1001 Albums Summary

Dated and not as great as I wanted it to be. Not really a huge fan in their hey, I wanted to think maybe it was better 20-years on.

Better and more emotionally charged than I remember. Great re-listen!

Perfect chill album. Crisp audio. Smooth all around.

So much emotion in his voice. Some great classics. Loving the backing vocals.

Fine to revisit, but no earth-shattering musical experience to be had.

One of the cornerstone albums of my childhood, having a listen as an adult reveals why my mom had it on repeat more than a decade after it was released. Really juicy vocals and Don Henley on the drums sends me to a happy place not really found in the lyrics throughout the album. Each song is sort of a cautionary tale; sad but rockin’.

This seems like an album he put out for fun so he could cover songs he liked. Unpopular opinion: I didn’t miss the bitchin’ guitar solos he’s so known for and still wholly appreciated the simplicity of the songs.

Not my favorite and not the worst? A few recognizable hits sprinkled between some surprisingly country-laced jams cementing this as The Example of southern rock in my opinion.

Wasn’t a fan before listening and somehow didn’t experience a mystifying conversion afterwards.
