Popular Reviews

Black Metal by Venom

Like a parody of itself. Physically difficult to sit through.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Didn't love a couple of the slower tracks, but the album was overall enjoyable and I added to my apple music library. Good vocals. Beat is unimaginative but inoffensive. Stands on the guitar and vocals, and the singer is talented. It doesn't shatter any expectations or redefine alt-rock, but lots of fun.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Nov 03 2025

Love this album; I've been listening to it since its release.

Guero by Beck
Nov 12 2025

This album doesn't really change my opinion of Beck that much, although I did find a couple tracks that I liked. Not awful, but won't add it to my personal collection.

Live / Dead by Grateful Dead
Dec 04 2025

I'm not a big jam-band fan, and not really a live-album fan either. I can definitely see why someone already a big fan would love it, but it's not for me. Not adding to my collection.

Dec 10 2025

A lot more chill than the title suggests. I'm actually going to add this to my personal collection for some great ambient tunes at work.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Feb 14 2026

Love a smooth rap over a soul beat. Rhyming over a classic album traces all the way back to the origins of rap and this is a great tribute to that while also pushing every aspect of it into modernity. The through line of Kanye being the smart one for dropping out of college is a bit cringe inducing. Too many skits is always cringe inducing on a hip hop album. Kanye is great at coming at a theme from a lot of original angles and making a compelling narrative out of his tracks, although his technical ability is only middle of the road. Good flow, but only ok rhyme and meter. Probably because at this point in his career most of his experience is as a producer and not a performer. Would re-buy, although I've owned and listened to this album for many years :)
