Ys by Joanna Newsom

Keep giving me songs not available in US on Spotify. Had to listen on YouTube. Amazing album — I had heard of her but hadn’t heard her music. Reminded me of an Appalachian Bjork. Have a feeling music will grow on me.

Eagles by Eagles
Nov 16 2025

The Eagles are a classic American band, with tons of top hits through the 1970s and 1980s. This 1972 debut album focuses mostly on their laid-back California sound, and there's no doubt why Take it Easy, Witchy Woman and Peaceful Easy Feeling were chosen as the singles. The vocals are smooth and the musicianship is evident. A solid 3.5 of 5, even though the band's vibe is not my favorite thing.

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Nov 17 2025

A couple decent songs (the singles) but really didn’t dig the rest. I like some hard rock (Zeppelin, Rush, Ozzy) but hair band albums are a hard sell outside their hits.

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Nov 18 2025

Love Massive Attack, but Mezzanine is more my vibe. This album trends toward soul/hip hop. Will add the two singles to my rotation though.

The Rise & Fall by Madness
Nov 19 2025

A couple great songs, but is this really an album? Too many experiments.

The Libertines by The Libertines
Nov 20 2025

Not for me, but I can appreciate what they were going for.

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos

Own this album, several great songs and an overall solid concept.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince

Personally loved 1999 and Purple Rain; this was good but not essential listening for me.
