Liked it more than I expected to—I've been on the fence on her music for a while but only ever knew a few songs. I would listen again but don't think it would make it into regular rotation.

I'm familiar with most of these songs but I'm not sure I've ever actually listened through. It was a great one to settle into. So much going on and still feels so self-assured in its style.

Came into this one only really knowing Message In A Bottle, which is (deservedly) well-known, and Walking On The Moon, which I've always liked. The album grew on me over repeated listening. Really cool rhythmic stuff happening. I was surprised most by Any Other Day, both that it was unexpectedly punk and also that it's the one that's been stuck in my head.

Not my jam, but made for decent upbeat stress packing music. Some impressive guitar licks but again, just not really my thing. I preferred the back half.

Fun! Could definitely see his influence on others. Wish I had time to write more but I want the next album.

It was fun to hear different versions than I'm used to but I got overwhelmed by indulgent harmonica solos by Disc 2.

I was only passingly familiar with BVSC and had been meaning to investigate them further for a little while. This album was the perfect antidote to the dreariness of a long drive through wintry mix and holiday traffic, so much so that I let it run through again and enjoyed it at least as much the second time. It kept me sane, alert, and entertained through what would have otherwise been a slog. Loved the rhythms and different instrumental voices, the harmonies and the sense that they're really having a great time playing and singing together. There was so much going on at any given time that it was the kind of music you can do the auditory equivalent of looking around the scene in a movie and keep finding new things. Fun to sing/make noise along to. Would probably have been 4.5 if that were an option. I don't know if this will stay in my pantheon but it absolutely delivered tonight and I look forward to revisiting it.
