the synth going on in track 2 is kinda crazy fun (I really liked motion sickness) I do hear the 2012 energy but the synth makes it sound older. in "look at where we are " i lowkey thought it was Laufey (I really don't know why), but no it was a man. (I do like it though). track 5 sounds like the opening of a charli xcx beat. not really a fan of this one. track 6 is also weird and sexual and I don't like track 7 either. "now there is nothing" is kind of a older 60s (beatles??) melody and I do like it better and it's different from tracks 5-7 and more like the opening tracks. The overly synth-y stuff is not my cup of tea :/ "let me be him" is better fs but I kept wanting to skip in songs and 56 minutes is too long for this type of album. "always been your love" is also another melody I like more because it's less synth heavy and I like the duet. probably rate it like a 6/10 or like 2/5. not bad but probably wouldnt listen to more than the 3 songs I liked...
ive listened before so this is my second listen but I don't remember the first time : The guitar riff in changeling is really fun! I do like classic rock so it is more of my jam then some other albums. "cars hiss by my window' is kind of a boring track when I enjoyed the previous ones. L'America sounds just like Jim Morrison is disassociating. probably give this like a 3.5/5 or 3/5 because it was better than mine yesterday....... overall like a 7.9/10 I will probably listen to their other stuff.
So far the first song "walk on" is my favorite but I do really like the sound of this album- nothing has jarred me yet. Kind of a short album but it was an ok listen. 3/5 because I liked the vibes
Intro : gave me anxiety- like AH. but I do like the background music thing going on. It did not feel like a song felt like AHH which ik is the point but not my thing...
Things done changing : yes vibes, so far my favorite. "Back in the days, our parents used to take care of us / Look at 'em now, they even fuckin' scared of us" is bars "Machine Gun funk" : 2nd favorite so far. I love the storytelling of the album, it feels like every song leads into the next. "ready to die" - good track, def goes into the story telling. The little audio details are so fun. in juicy "blow up like the world trade" caught me completely by surprise.. haha. also hamilton refrence (trust Ik its not) 4/5 overall I really enjoyed and probably would listen to most of it again and i only didnt really like a couple songs! (ALSO : now ik where all the samples come from : big poppa ding noises)
fine- nothing really called out to me. Maybe the style isn't my thing. "good golly miss molly" was fun though as well as "penthouse pauper". 3/5
It was chill and I liked it on background 3/5 the second to last song was peak
I really enjoyed this! All the songs went together well and nothing felt super out of place or jarring. I will be adding it to my listens in the future!!! 5/5
radio free europe is nostalgic. its ok lol 3/5
I guess keep on the sunny side was nice. I really didnt want to listen to more than 5 songs- maybe I would like it idk.
the bass on "our lips is sealed" made me go HELL YEAH. I love bass. I honestly can't believe i've never heard of them... all the instruments sound so great with the singing. I LOVE new wave- also a girl group?!?! like blondie (who i love) but more. 5/5 hype
its ok 2/5. not the worst thing ever but eh. coincedentally it started playing other songs by them and I liked them more.
black sabbath track was actually amazing. its like slow in a heavy way and the guitar is epic. The beat changes halfway through and is still good. whole thing is great. even the long ah songs. 5/5
"how does it feel" drove me crazy- it made me feel annoyed. I liked the first 2 tracks though. revolution also kind of sucked- angry noise for no reason. suicide too like who decided minutes of synth was good- 11 freaking minutes. someone commented "good but largely irritating"- yes. the ones that arent noise are good but the rest is bad. 2.5/5
i like it enough. 1979 and Tonight, Tonight are oviously popular and the only ones i really knew before. I didnt realize "bullet with butterfly wings" was the song but I knew it and it was nostalgic. 4/5 or 3/5
I'd probably like it more but it wasn't the vibe I needed atm. I do like Rock n Roll star. 4/5 would need to relisten
