Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta

Prog rock perfection. THe vocals on this are incredible, along with the basswork. Really great switches all the way throughout, every song feels new and refreshing. However, the main highlight of this which makes it absolute cinema is the drumming. Holy shit is he killing it. The jazzy drumming is absolutely awesome and it fits so well with this sound. Not only is it mechanically impressive, its tasteful and not overplayed so that it sounds like it's distracting the listener away from the other elements of the song. And as a final touch, this is mixed incredibly well, which you can really appreaciate in those climactic drops where you can hear each and every component crisp and clear. This is a work of art

Attempt #5 of trying to get into rap. Really surprised me with the variety. Incredible adlibs. Love how hes melodic with the vocals instead of just gangsta (sorry for wrong terminology). Pretty promising experience. Of course, not enough of a click to get me into the genre but its hope for future. If I was a rap fan this would definitely rank high in my list.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley

Short and Sweet. I dont have much to say about this Some songs are good, most are okay. I dont want to give it a higher rating just because of his legacy and pioneering, hence itll be low, sorry boomers. I acknowledge it and respect it but id like to give a rating solely on the music.

Taking Alt Rock to really a different kind of intensity - such a great album. One slight gripe would be the electronic elements which i like in a lot of songs but also they dont work in some songs, especially the slower ones. But it's not something I can't get past, so, overall a VERY good experience. My rating scheme is 2 - decent, 3 - good, 4 - great so this is a 4

I really thought Id like it more and I do want to get into jazz but this did not do it for me. Maybe I havent accquired the taste for this aspect yet, but for now its either a 1 or a 2.

...And Justice For All by Metallica

Metallica's most sophisticated work. My second favorite after ride the lightning.

Second experience with grunge. I really like the sound of this album. I overall prefer this over Nevermind by Nirvana (my first grunge experience) but that could be becasue of recency bias as well. Some songs do feel like it drags on a bit without changing much, so I would overall rate it like a 3.5/10

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Dec 02 2025

I am trying my best to appreciate this. I do have a couple of standouts that could be redeeming qualities but I have far too many gripes for them to be significant. Here's how it goes: Looped tracks like DJ music minus the bombastic raving, sometimes dull irritating sounds and sometimes squeaky glitch sounds. Sometimes becomes a nursery rhyme and sometimes trying to emulate the 80s vibe. Even pop music feels just bland, this feels annoying to listen to.

I had heard shoegaze before, but I guess this is close to the roots. It sounds pretty different from say Deftones or Deafheaven, which is in the realm of metal. It's VERY dreamy and atmospheric, I could easily sleep to this - takes you to a different realm altogether. Having said that, I do find it quite repetitive. Its cool if I get into the right head space/mood to float in the atmosphere but after two or three songs it fades off and im left with a stale feeling.

Classic divorced dad rock, pretty nice.

Rio by Duran Duran

Pretty nice overall, didnt stand out much in any particular aspect - just felt vibey and nice on the ears.

I would give it a two star because it sounds like your average everyday stuff - bland pop music for the 70s era where rock was THE thing. Dropped to one star because of lack of variety in riffs and drum fills, and also the background as an industry plant whcih is a huge turn off for me

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder

Another one I already know. It's a bit inconsistent here and there because some songs are very underwhelming compared to the rest - but still a great album I would say.
