Beginning: reminded me of the beetles, I had actually heard track 1 outside of the album and assumed it was the beetles. It makes sense since it's the same decade - I also haven't listened to the beetles much. Starts so joyful "wouldn't it be nice". Midway: I could hear the instruments come in more. The wood instruments were more prominent. Not sure if that Bec of intent or as I I listened to the album, I changed the way I heard it. Regardless, it became more melancholy pretty steadily, the transition was unnoticeable. Though when you heard it, it was very stark in comparison. (Don't talk was the song I heard it the most) After that, it was generally pretty depressive, the instruments were more brass and wood - as mentioned. While the beginning qas more guitar and light. Sloppy John B, was airy and I appreciated that the music was so cherry, you can hear the brass again, the xylophone and melody but the lyrics were just about a drunk, sad man. Music was danceable though! God only knows what I'd be about is an interesting juxtaposition from the first song, although interestingly the same kind of energy - lyric wise. I enjoy how some songs are about how amazing it would be to be with the one you love, but there are also songs about the importance of being alone and what is discovered while alone Ending: the song pet sounds is a great way to start the decent of the album. I loved the purely instrumental aspect, it felt like the music that plays at the end of a play while everyone is coming out and bowing. While the music on this song can come across as chaotic because there are so many different parts happening at once, it was so calculated. You could hear each Instrument. Caroline, no. The last song on the album. A complete contrast of the beginning. The album told a story of the story of losing love and trying to rationalize it. Both for better or for worse (it's okay to be alone, but also the pleads of being with the one you love.) With the ending, I feel the song Sloppy John B is the cl2 imax to the realization it's over. Overcome with alcoholism and loss of self, followed by the song, I know there is an answer (refered as one of the songs that isolation isnt necessarily a bad thing, and possibly a moment for growth). But for Caroline, no the song was considerably shorter than the rest and the train sound at the end of the song finalizes the fact it is over, I took it as the person leaving for good.
