Graceland by Paul Simon
Dec 08 2025

What a joy of an album. Listening to it throughout my life it’s peaked my interest to explore African music multiple times. I think when popular musicians explore other genres, or use international musicians to change there sound it either sounds trite or forced. With this album it never feels that way, with most of the songs using different musicians from South Africa keeps each song and the album from coming repetitive. Love this album, also was Vampire Weekend founded to be a Graceland cover band, then they realized they’re actually great musicians in there own rite? Haha

Brutal Youth by Elvis Costello
Dec 11 2025

Definitely some solid moments musically and lyrically, but not sure if I’d come back to this album. Its inclusion makes me wonder just how many Elvis Costello albums will be on here? because for me I could think of 4 of his albums that feel stronger.

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Dec 12 2025

I would rather just listen to The Smiths, this just doesn't have enough of that the jangly guitar that I enjoy so much in their songs. I also felt the lyrics while at times poetic didn't feel as witty or grab me the way some of Morrisseys songs with The Smiths do.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Dec 15 2025

Growing up my Dad was and still is a Led Zeppelin guy through and through, while he had time for The Stones like any music lover should, it wasn't what was played around the house. But, luckily you cannot avoid this incredible band in life and for that I’m grateful. With Sticky Fingers, every emotion you could feel from classic rock is distilled into 46 minutes of perfect escapism. Snarling vocals, some of the greatest guitar riffs and grooves ever put to popular music, leg slapping drumming, eclectic instrumentation, this album is The Stones at it's highest and most concise form. For me this is as essential as it gets.

Zombie by Fela Kuti

Funky stuff, found the first song very enjoyable and the closing live track to be fantastic and mesmerizing. Cool to listen to something that fuses so many American styles of music into African music rather than the other way around. Feel like this would fit in nicely with Jazz and funk albums that are great in the background but still get you moving when you focus in and listen.

Revolver by Beatles

5 stars! My second favorite Beatles album. Some of my favorite memories with my brothers is playing Beatles Rock Band and long nights listening to our parents records together. I often find my self going back to their albums as a source of comfort and joy. Also, our baby finds this record particularly enjoyable, which is a good sign.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette

My wife loves this album, I really enjoy when she turns it on and how much we get to enjoy it together.
