1001 Albums Summary

This is my first album of the 1001 on this website and I laughed out loud when I saw it. This is a great album and I listened it a lot last year to the disdain of my girlfriend. We talk about it so much that it has become a running joke in our relationship. Bill Callahan is truly great and under-appreciated. He reminds me of a mix of Brian Eno, Nick Cave, and Nick Drake.

It is its own thing which is great and I enjoy listening to it. You and Whose Army in Incendies put me on Radiohead and it remains their standout song on this album.

Cant go wrong with Ozzy

Was sceptical at first but it quickly grew on me. Need more african stuff here. Ended up doing a deep dive into the Western African Jazz scene after. Also i rlly want to see the studio when they worked w iggy pop lmao

In my opinion probably their 4th best album. I enjoyed it but moreso as background music maybe. Some great songs on their but not an album I would choose to listen to again.

Massive respect. It was really the first intergrated band and their sound has influenced generations. I enjoy it but it is not something I would listen to and it felt more of a chore.

1 star. Not for me. 1 star doesnt mean 1 star out of all albums but its a rating put in the context of what is supposed to be the best 1001 albums.
