Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Dec 14 2025

Pretty good rifts - each song feels like its own thing. Didn't listen to much Foo Fighters until now. Can definitely see the Nirvana influence, I mean - Dave Grohl had just left Nirvana. "Left" being used ironically here. "Big Me", "I'll stick around" and "Floaty" are my top tracks. Good start to this chalellenge!

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Dec 15 2025

1 - "Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God). Good start. I was already familiar with this track from the Stranger Things craze a couple of years back. Love Kate's vocals on this track. You can feel the agony in her vocals as she pleads to God. That guitar rift around 3:40 is the creme de la creme! Okay, after listening to the rest of the album, I can see why everyone just knows that first song. The rest of the album gets too experimental for me. It comes across as a pitch for a surrealist musical.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Dec 18 2025

I think this album is pretty chaotic. I can understand why people found it "revolutionising" in the late 60s, but a lot of the tracks in the middle are very "chaotic" with the guitar distortions. My favourite is the title track "bold as love", and there's a couple of nice ones, but overally nothing wowed me.

Two tracks in: "God, there's so much going on. It all feels very busy. Not sure how I'll get through this." Listens to Fairytale of New York: "Oh it's THESE guys that sing this! Okay, I'm beginning to have a change-of-heart here!" Listens to Thousands are Sailling: ' I AM SO PROUD TO BE IRISH!!!" (I'm from Mexico) This album made me fall in love with Irish Folk. Can't wait to listen to more. Took me more than a day to get through it just because I kept repeating tracks.

All Directions by The Temptations

Such a smooth, soothing Album. I found myself feeling more grounded and calmer with each song. Not one to listen to frequently, but It's handy to know it for when i need some smooth vibes.

I Against I by Bad Brains

It grew on me a little bit towards the end. A bit too chaotic for me. Have a negative bias towards punk anyway – the instrumentals are a bit aggressive for my liking. That being said, I did listen to it on a Sunday with my morning coffee, and I did manage to listen to the whole thing!
