1001 Albums Summary

Great album, you can feel the immense cultural, societal, traditional and sociopolitical influence in this project. Some beautiful messages are expressed in this album that leave you contemplating the harsh reality, but also you are able to find beauty in the chaos and madness. Maybe it isn’t my favourite album ever, but I can appreciate it being a masterpiece and a staple in hip-hop culture. Definitely a recommendation for everyone to listen at least once.

A whimsical, joyous, rebellious, nostalgic and calming nature comes from this album. Very much enjoyed the opening track of the same title as the album, it brought up emotions of gratitude, unwavering love and guidance that mothers have towards their children. All in all a soothing listen for whenever you just want something fun and purely calming.

Some real classics on this album, I believe it’s an album that has a great relisten value, perfect for throwing on when you’re just working around the house, or you just want something fun background music, it’s not too much but also isn’t monotonic. A diverse album with songs that surprise you, also I think it will only get better on repeat visits.

So far probably my favorite album I’ve listened to during this project. A very unique blend of soft melodies with wild lyrics. Very soothing and fun, definitely a record I will look to relisten at some point, but so far it’s been the best suggestion and the most surprising as well.
