1001 Albums Summary

A lovely introduction to this new project, seeing as I had already listened to Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) through its inclusion in the soundtrack for the fourth season of Stranger Things on Netflix. I'm currently in a pretty stressful period for any student with finals, and listening to this album helped calm me down in some way and actually made me sit down this afternoon and continue cramming. The night before, I started listening and had an almost religious-like experience with And Dream of Sheep. I would say those two, along with The Big Sky, were my three standouts on first listen. Some tracks are quite a bit more experimental than others, and I know that with further listens, I will come to enjoy them even more. For now, this was a great fun listen with some really great standouts, first instinct tells me 4 stars, so that is what it will get.

Shit. I mean, I was definitely biased coming in as a life-long Swiftie, and I will definitely say that that conditioned my listening experience. I absolutely despise him as a person, for many reasons, but you simply cannot deny his musical talent. I hate it when people say that, but in some cases, it is true. My favorites on first listen were Slow Jamz and Last Call (crazy last track btw, what do you mean this is 12 minutes long and he's simply talking for like half of it? Still enjoyed it though). I wouldn't say it is a life-changing album for me, but I did enjoy listening to it once. Probably will never listen to it again based on principle, but it was quite decent (could probably even say good)
