Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Dec 18 2025

Initial thoughts- Sounds heavenly in headphones oml Track 1: Loved how the instruments sounded like they were singing and the different parts in my ears were satisfying to hear Track 2: More upbeat and jazzy I love the sax(?) solo Track 3: I like how the title means "duck" and it sounds like a duck waddling around. I like the guitar solo a lot and how it sticks out but is simple in the background. Very abrupt ending Track 4: More romantic and upbeat but still sad and sounds like it would be fun to dance to (hence the name "samba triste") Track 5: Transitioned nicely from the last song but felt repetitive. Track 6: Felt like a duet between the sax and guitar which was a cool effect. Not too long or repetitive Track 7: Cool rhythms created with the percussion and guitar in the background. Another fun dancing song. Cool bass rhythm at end Track 8: Same as track 1 but funky Final thoughts- Really good musicality and energy with fun techniques. I liked the different moods and times where each instrument got to shine. The audio quality felt so clean and crisp

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Dec 19 2025

Initial thoughts- I know some of the tracks and like them a lot so I'm excited to hopefully find new songs I enjoy. Good instrumental to start off the album. Tracks 2-3- The transition from moods was surprising but not unpleasant. I like the crazy guitar parts and the lyrics in Jellybelly. Track 5: It sounds nostalgic and is pretty edgy but still has a good beat and lyricism. Track 10: One of my favorite smashing pumpkins songs it's so calm and romantic and I love the background music. Feels like running in a poppy field as the sun sets. Track 11: Hit harder than I thought. The cymbal in the background was a nice touch. Beautiful music breaks. Final thoughts- I lowkey did not finish this whole album, I started late at night and fell asleep but It was a good listen. I like listening to alternative rock but generally don't have it in my playlists so it was fun to really get into the guitar solos and rasp of his voice.

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Dec 22 2025

Initial thoughts: Not sure how I expected it to start but the hand drums and other background percussion were surprising Track 1: Cute background vocals and I like the piano. I liked how upbeat it was. Cool ass guitar solo wish it was longer Track 2: Big switch in the vibe from before it's a lot more chill. Love the twang from the guitar and the lyrics hit hard Track 6: Cool lyrics I like the political references. Feels pretty repetitive but nice and upbeat Track 9: I like the rhythm a lot. It sounds like it would be in the movie Fantastic Mr. Fox. Fun twang again and not too long. Final thoughts: I like how the titles and song lyrics tell a story throughout the album. Pretty good instrumentals and okay vocals. Not sure I would listen to most of it regularly but definitely a fun listen.
