1001 Albums Summary

Pretty cool record, definitely a couple bangers. Only think I knew under my thumb and it’s def not my fav on this listen. Most memorable moment is the hi hat on high and dry - if you’re looking for the best sound ever created, look no further. Lady Jane and What to Do are nice wit it!! Listened to while walking through wychwood and on 63 bus.

Hard to believe that the record continues to get better and better over the course of the first 8 songs - songbird into the chain is crazy - absolutely gorgeous song that hints at something powerful that’s more revealed in the chain. “I Don’t Want to Know” is the singular song on this record that doesn’t entirely grip me. “Oh Daddy”, which follows, would never be one of the most popular songs on this record, but it’s a song that provides important context. Shows more of the bands range and where they can take things. The instrumental section is one of the most exciting parts of the record for me. Also the guitar playing on this record is just incredible. Masterful at times in whimsy playfulness, and in impassioning western psychedelic twang. What a band! Listened to on 63 bus

Astronomically influential and seminal for punk and so many genres to come - but for my specific set of ears, just doesn’t do a whole lot. Can’t say I didn’t have fun though. listened to on 63 bus
