1001 Albums Summary

One of the early-aughts bands I wrote off at the time because they weren’t punk. Though I am actively trying to expand my horizons, I feel mildly justified in my initial prognosis. I’m certain I’ve heard some songs by them before, but I wouldn’t have been able to tell you if it was Arcade Fire or The Arctic Monkeys, or Kings of Leon or any other number of bands I conflated in my own head. I don’t even know if any of those bands sound like the others. All that said, there were some moments in this album I truly enjoyed. The last minute of Crown of Love. Then”oh THAT song, moment I recognized Wake Up from some dusty corner memory of who knows when. I still wouldn’t say this is my type of music, but Arcade Fire left the door of possibility open.
