1001 Albums Summary

★ part of the 1001 album journey. album 1/1001 ★ As you can guess from my profile, I am a COMPLETE stranger to metal, so going into this I was kind of apprehensive but that is part of the reason why I wanted to do the 1001 albums journey, because it opens me up to music I would normally not listen to. I was pleasantly surprised by this album! I always thought of metal as being a very inaccesible, harsh, brash genre that isn’t easy to listen to but this album was actually very easy go get into. It’s packed with great instrumentals, clever lyrics and a lead singer with a ton of passion. The album cover is also STRIKING and made me check out some other album covers of Iron Maiden, which I have to say: they NAILED a lot of them. Will this mean I’ll become a metalhead? Probably not. But I’m glad to know that metal music is not this noise that I thought it was. Sorry metal fans! I really am.
