Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Jan 02 2026

Never have been a fan of hip-hop, and unfortunately this was no different. I do enjoy the slick punches the lyrics pack in, and the clear funk sounds. Honestly, the production is really nice, because it straddles the line of being drowning out the vocals and not pretty well. Maybe if I revisit this a few years into the future I’ll feel differently. Maybe.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac

A beautiful soft rock album that showed me the wonders of the genres. Not much to say really. Fantastic album that offers a well connected and lean track list. Stevie nicks, I love you to death.

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters

This sounds like an uncanny valley nirvana record. Nice, inoffensive album that I enjoyed listening to. A bit bland though. I would have enjoyed a more daring approach but I cannot fault them for failing to do something that they have not tried to do.

Hot Fuss by The Killers

Teenagers were onto something in the 2000’s.

I saw this was 7 songs long and thought “hey, a short n sweet album for once! Let me give it a spin!” I knew something was wrong when not a single vocal came in after like 5 minutes of the same song. Jokes aside, the sound barring the vocal is really nice. I can see why this is considered the best early work of progressive rock. The vocals… I just think it could do with a little less (or a lot less) of screeching and whining. As for the story line, alas, I am not whimsy enough to fully appreciate this song’s science fiction lyrics with an alien and a priest??? Or is it actually an alien priest? To be honest I still haven’t a clue what this is trying to convey. I felt the exact same way about imaginary disk’s concept except this is way more in your face and the sound isn’t so transcendent like imaginable disk’s that I am willing to wade through it. Eh, 2.5.
