To be honest, the entire album vibe sounds like a circus gone wrong. I'm not fluent in French at all, so I have no clue what the lyrics are. Surely I can look it up...
Anyway, from what I researched, this album is the band's only one sung in French. Which is intriguing because the band is based in Switzerland. I don't know, maybe ethnically the band has French ancestry somewhere in there. :p
I digress, I would give the album a solid 5/10...
Unfortunately, for some songs, I was kind of bored and never had that moment of being stunned, where I thought, "Oh my god, this song sounds really good, I have to add it to my liked songs." The one thing that saves the album from getting a 2 is the singer's husky-toned voice.
Awesome opening song! It kind of sets up a vibe of a long road trip set before the 2000s, if whoever is listening is into rock music.
I just looked them up, and the band is from Memphis :D woahhh so if thats the case can white people go back to making good music again????
Listening to the second song while writing this song, and the vocals and instruments in this album are like out of this world!
It gives very old school rock n roll but with a soulful southern twist to it, if that makes sense.
After listening to the entire album, I can say wholeheartedly that I truly enjoyed the album. I think only a few songs I will go back and listen to, like Feel and in the street, but later on in the album, I became a little bored. Overall, like I said before a pretty easy going listen with a great sound. I would also like to add that the vocals in the album are super solid!
Not a huge fan of the smiths, but I can acknowledge a well-produced album. I wouldn't say any of the songs were jaw-dropping! To be honest, when it comes to the 80s era, there are only a few synthesizers I can handle before I get bored and turn on something more modern el oh el.
In all seriousness, tho the drums in Death of a Disco Dancer were pretty jaunty. I'm a sucker for consistency in a song, which was an added point. Morrissey just has to shut up real quick, tho.
OKAY, now to give an unbiased opinion on this album. I honestly really liked it. So much so, I added Death of a Disco Dancer to my liked songs :) Girlfriend in a Coma was also a song that stood out. To be honest, you can tell that The Smiths is a British rock band. Not because of the obvious accent... but more so with the sound heh.. hehh heh heh.. British bands tend to have a different approach to creating music. As I said before, this album is jaunty for most of it, even though it starts off a little boring. I can confidently say that I like the jauntiness of this album. (know I'm being a little redundant el oh el)
Anywho, I would give this album a solid 4/5; each song on the album brought something different, which was really refreshing. Although there was an obvious theme. I think I judged The Smiths a little too much in the past. FORGIVE ME
Its okay.. I'm a huge fan of softer rock most of the time, but I will say I listened to half of this album while taking a quick shower before bed. Honestly, I only liked one or two songs from the album, believe it or not, 'Jamie's Cryin and You Really Got Me.
I think my biggest turn-off with this album is the vocalist. Don't get me wrong, he's not horrible. But it's that annoying nasally whine that I hate in male singers. Also, I need to remember that this was made in the 1970s, when music was actually evolving from the traditional rock 'n' roll you would hear in the 1960s or anytime before that.
Okay, so I would give this Van Halen by Van Halen (heh hehhh) a decent 3/5. I'm not a huge knower of all music, but drums/guitar were pretty stable and unique. The blends of the instruments were obviously nicely placed and did keep :p
arent these guy who were rude to nardwar...
This name brought back childhood memories of my dad taking me to elementary school. I vividly remember myself, my twin. And my dad is jamming out to It's Tricky. That's all I really knew about them and 'Walk This Way'.
BUT after listening to this album, it truly made me miss the cleverness that past hip-hop artists had. Deadass, what is a doot doot?? love 6 7 but OHMYGOD PLEASE BRING RAP BACK TO ITS GLORY AGAIN! I was in the shower to the album, and I remember saying "Whoa, that's clever!" to one of the recurring lyrics in 30 Days. "And if you find that you don't like my ways. Well, you can send me back in thirty days."
Anyway, a 5/5 solid album, like PEAK, and a shoutout to Queens, New York, for reproducing one of the greatest duos of all time.
