1001 Albums Summary

The first half of the album was really good, but then it sort of started collapsing after the half waypoint. The rest of the songs started becoming either bland, too general, or just not for my taste. However, Proud to Be Black sticks the landing of the album. Despite my comments on this, it's still a good and solid hip-hop record.

It is a little too conceptual of an album for me. It's Radiohead, so I believe there is a genius background with methodical and deep elaboration of these songs, but maybe wasn't the right fit of the mood for today. Still, there are some good songs I'll add to the playlist I use when I want to cry and feel horrible. "Knives Out" stuck out to me from the rest of the album. There are great instrumentals. They bring these nostalgic, moody, and sad emotions, but aren't always my type of music. "Life In a Glasshouse" is a good finishing track for the album.

I had heard most of it before. Nice soul and jazz tunes. You can't go wrong with Ray Charles

It honestly felt like it was the same song over and over again. Cool instrumental I guess but, didn’t feel much out of this album.
