1001 Albums Summary

I don’t dislike soul it’s just typically not the kind of music I listen to. this album is very pretty though! The first half of the album is kind of sonically repetitive however, but there is some variety in the second half which I liked, especially in the last 3 songs, which are the best on the album imo. Overall I think I’d give the album a 3.5/5 (or a 3 on the website because you can’t do halves) I might not come back to it but for what it’s worth I did like it.

Hauntingly beautiful. So warm yet so melancholic at the same time, and Nick Drake has a lovely voice that’s just absolutely perfect for this album. 5/5

There were only 2 songs I genuinely liked (It’s Up to You & Little Bitch) and even then they weren’t all that great. This genre just isn’t my thing, 1/5

Country has never been my thing but I will admit it’s hard for this album to not put some sort of smile on your face. It’s so optimistic and sentimental. It’s not really the kind of thing I’d come back to but I do appreciate it for what it is. 3/5

I love the music itself but the lyrics are abysmal, and they almost ruin the entire thing for me 😭
