1001 Albums Summary

Not their best work, but I'm assuming their whole discography is in here somewhere

Not for me

Easy to hear the influence this would have on Nirvana, particularly the drums. Telling that I completely didn't notice that the album had looped around 1.5 times though - just a bit too anonymously noisy and anarchic for me.

Zero, Hysteric and the acoustic variations are the highlights. Some of the rest are all noise no punch.

You've really got to win me over with the instrumentation and singing if you're doing a dour concept album, and Lou Reed is never going to offer those to me.

Laughable

Sure, it's boring as hell and I can't forgive the fact that the first track is riffing on Frere Jacques. But I have to admire the commitment to the bit - this does make a lot of sense for an airport.

Distinctive voice, great instrumentation, great lyrics. Captured something of that generation in a slightly different way to their grunge contemporaries.
