Grace by Jeff Buckley

I’m embarrassed to admit that when I saw this album come up I was not excited. The hallelujah guy? Yawn. But holy shit this is not what I was expecting. There’s some really great rock riffs on this album that caught me off guard, Mojo Pin and Eternal Life especially. Great stuff.

Mothership Connection by Parliament

Feels like the musical equivalent to joking around with your friends in a garage on a winter night. It’s a fantastic time, and it feels isolated in a good way. It feels like it’ll never end, not that you want it to.

It’s a Smiths album, not exactly what I was expecting but nothing special either. Why is Morrissey growling?

Disintegration by The Cure
Jan 15 2026

Not really for me. I appreciate the influence The Cure has had on the music I like, the gothic pop rock vibes. But I think I like songs by The Cure better when they’re sung by someone else.

Bossanova by Pixies
Jan 16 2026

Another one where I didn’t know what to expect. First two songs were a one two punch, the rest of it was just kind of meh. Might not revisit this one any time soon, maybe with more Pixies context

Tommy by The Who
Jan 17 2026

Really glad I got this album. While genre wise it’s not really my daily cup of tea, and there’s some grating sounds, and good lord is Fiddle About the most uncomfortable 90 seconds of music… but this album paved the way for some of my favorite albums, and bands, of all time. I will forever respect Tommy, even if it’s not a frequent spin for me.

The Visitors by ABBA
Jan 18 2026

I’m glad I made it through this album because I very much enjoyed my time with it. Not really my thing and probably won’t go back to it, but it was an enjoyable hour.

Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
Jan 19 2026

I enjoyed this one. The influences both on and from this record really shone, it feels like an important one even if it was a completely new band to me. I see myself coming back to this

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan

Loved it. Definitely see myself throwing it on in the right setting but not regular rotation. Live jazz albums are some of my favorite

Exit Planet Dust by The Chemical Brothers
Jan 21 2026

Didn’t finish it but added to a few playlists. These albums are tough to listen to front to back for me unless I’m doing something else at the same time. But, I dug it more than I usually do this sort of thing.

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye

Didn’t finish. I get it, it’s just not for me.

Quintessential nu-metal… for whatever that’s worth
