Reign In Blood by Slayer

Look, I get it that it's a thrash classic, but I think that Slayer's magic got lost for me somewhere in high school, the edginess is just funny at this point, the atonal solos don't do nothing for me, and fast drums and heavy riffs get boring really quickly.

Anyway, here's Wonderwall... I don't hate it. I don't particularly like it either. The best I can do is - I don't mind, but I highly doubt I'll put it on again. And please, don't make me listen the 4CD remastered 2h 45min version of it.

Ragged Glory by Neil Young & Crazy Horse

There was a pub back in my uni days simply called Rock'n'Roll, where the beer was dirt cheap and the clientele's clothing was made solely out of leather and jeans. After the indoor smoking ban in pubs, they decided that the designated smoking area is at the left side of the bar, while the right side was for nonsmokers. This album felt like that pub again. Maybe a controversial take, but no country rock album should last for an hour. It felt like listening to the same track over and over again. I don't like the vocals. I don't really want to go to Rock'n'Roll again.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jan 17 2026

I've never been a huge Beatles fan, but it's nearly impossible to ignore how bloody good this album is. A lot of all time classics, incredible songwriting, a total pleasure to listen to.

Truth And Soul by Fishbone

Surprisingly chaotic, but in a fun way. Wild mix of ska, funk, soul, and punk rock. I'm usually not a ska guy, but I can see myself revisiting this album in the future just to once again hear how much fun the band had recording it.

Disintegration by The Cure
Jan 19 2026

It's sad and angsty. Just not my kind of sad and angsty. I can understand the appeal though.

A really great album instrumentally, I just love slow funky tunes. The vocals turn out to be a little too much after a couple of tracks though.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Jan 21 2026

I have a soft spot for this album and for Jack White in general.

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell
Jan 23 2026

Intriguing piece of music. I enjoyed it and will probably come back later to it, but I also can definitely see why someone might utterly hate it.
