Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Jan 19 2026

I like it, it's like early Blonde, post-punk. Light production, good songwriting. 35 minutes of good music. 4/5

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Jan 20 2026

Very dark, I see where they have influenced other bands like Nine Inch Nails, but it's not my cup of tea. There are some good moments...but its an acquireddd taste. 2/5

The Clash by The Clash
Jan 21 2026

Really really good punk album. For fans of any punk music, new or old, this has so many of the hallmarks that make the genre great. So many singable songs, with messages as relevant today as they were when they written. Giving it a 4.5 out of 5 purely because I did get a bit of fatigue by the end. The only problem with songs that last 90 seconds to 2 minutes is they don't leave much space for progression so run that risk of all blending in to one. Still a top album though.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly
Jan 22 2026

Wow, this is a blast from.the past. 60s psychedelic prog. I can remember first hearing this on the simpsons as a kid, then searching it out a few years later. My dad would go on to burn a copy of the cd for me, being the kick ass hippie/rocker that he was. Even if you don't remember any other track from the album, the title track is iconic. 3/5 based on that track. Unfortunately, the rest of the album is a bit....generic. Listening to this again for the first time in 25 years reveals why I probably put it away for the first time. There's a lot of good ideas, but I think if they had created more in this vein then we could have had another truly special band in the same place as The Doors. Instead we got budget Doors and Windows.

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5

Really cool album, excellent hip hop. 5/5

Sea Change by Beck

I wasn't sure to start with. Not my usual style but there is a definite sense of music and art. I got flavours of Chris Cornell, Steven Wilson, a little bit of Kurt Cobain. I'll add it to my list, I think with repeated listens this could actually become a favourite, there is a lot to unpack from more than a single listen.

Triangle by The Beau Brummels
Feb 25 2026

Actually quite liked it. It's pretty generic 60s rock but it feels like it wouldn't go out of place on a 60s themed compilation. Would I seek it out over some of the more notable artists? Nah, probably not, but I wouldn't mind them being sprinkled in here and there. 3/5
