Listening statistics & highlights
Not exactly my jam, trying to listen pretending I don’t know who Metallica is but that’s impossible lol. Can see has this is a super pivotal album for rock and metal (hearing how some of my faves getting influence from this) loved to live is to die (mostly instrumental) some amazing guitar licks, the tempo on some of these songs is wild! And the orchestral layer on the final track is cool. I also like the political message and theme of the album, lyrically relevant today. Not my cup of tea, but can see why it’s highly regarded.
Hard to listen with the lens of nostalgia. Reminded of some tunes I loved like Longview. The arc of the album is so good. Probably wouldn’t listen much these days but it was solid back in the day
