1001 Albums Summary

This album was a lot of the same thing. The lyrics are so British they're unintelligible which i liked a lot. My favourite is track #2 beat on the brat, my least favourite 53rd and 3rd but i feel silly saying that cause they're the same song. i got rid of my fuckass bob recently, i don't regret it. Love the ramones but also what the hell man.

I don’t know if my old review saved, but I was skeptical of this album at first. I had just finished watching a Fela Kuti live preformance, so my standards were pretty high for big band outfits and communal song writing. I started cooking Shakshuka for lunch and the later half of the album started growing on me, particularly track 5 or 6

Bomb ass opening track, track of all time. So minimal and so full. Track 2-4 I'm eh on. I'm sure it was absolute heat at the time, but it's been kinda sterilized and stripped of it's flavour thanks to gentrified acts like Thee Sinnseers, who blare out of "locally owned cafes" that are in fact franchised, much like the band itself. The album cover mgiht be one of my favs though, the jacket is killer, what the fuck is this slime typography they spelled out his name for. It looks like he wrote the Ghostbusters theme or something, but no, he's just pumping out these vulnerable and honest soul ballads. I'm a big fan, i think it might be my fav so far. Yeah i like this album. Slows down from tracks 2-4, so i'm hesitant to call it a no-skipper, but DANG the second half is GOOD. Like really good. Last track mid tho
