1001 Albums Summary

I've already heard the album before coming into this and had already thought it was a little overrated, so after my relisten I still had some similar feelings. I think the highlights of the album like Debaser and Here Comes Your Man are some of the best songs I've ever heard, however asides from the highs the rest of the album is sort of just mediocre indie rock and nosier rock fusion. The influence is unspoken but the album itself sounds a bit outdated to me, so I have to give this a 3.5 stars.

I didn't know what to expect coming into this project. I've heard the name 'Offspring' before, but when I thought of it, no music I knew came to mind. I love punk, stuff like the Dead Kennedys and Bad Brains are so fun and catchy, so it makes sense why I would love something like this. I'm glad I was able to check this project out because it has such a clean sound while still dabbling in the murkiness of skate punk. I really felt like I was in California on these cool Minnesota days listening to it.
