1001 Albums Summary

Interesting things happen sonically but the majority of the songs just sound dated. God only knows might be a perfect song and almost drags the entire album to 4 stars.

Exceptional sound quality considering the age of the recording. Some seriously iconic moments. Never felt dull or settled in.

Didn’t know this came out in 83. Always associated it with early grunge in late 80s. Classic record. Kiss off, gone daddy gone, please do not go are near perfect songs. Gone daddy gone just sounds like a guy ritchie movie montage. Really surprised by the amount of blues influence.

Wu tang has been a constant in my life since I started forming my own taste in music. This record is as close to a super hero movie as music gets for me.

The entirety of this record is a hit. Incredible. Iconic. Love and happiness is one of my favorite songs. Love this record.

Lots more grooves and instrumentation than I expected. Knew the hit songs but was surprised by the rest of the material. A little short for a full length.

Came in with an open mind but I honestly didn’t find much to enjoy. I’m a pop music fan and I love r&b and singer songwriters but this sounded so firmly in the early 2000s with the music and song concepts. I didn’t hear anything that would make me think Christina was separating herself from the similar artists of the time.
