Initial views of the album are surprising, two track album with each track being above 10 mins is new to me. I've never heard something in this form before. Music was more neo-soul, experimental Jazz. I like jazz a lot, listened to it a lot in passing haven't really delved into each artist like that though besides Chet Baker and also my favorites from Bossa Nova being Louis Bonfa. Track 1, "Shhh / Peaceful" felt exceptionally long and bloated by the time it was ending but the quiet drums, organs and bass carry an element of suspense and melancholy to the track which even if it drags on and gets repetitive keeps the track somewhat alive. Track 2, "In a Silent Way" it started off slow with guitars and the switch around 4 minutes was exceptionally done and caught me off-guard. I prefer this song over the first one because of its structure and the way the song continues from the beginning till the end. Although it was a minute or so longer than the first song it did not have the same bloated factor for me. Loved the bass work, the drums and the organs and the trumpets that showed up near the end. The slow starting and dreamy de-escalating ending of the song gave it a bouncy (almost hip) structure with a middle that is full of life. Final review: 7/10 Might revisit this again and put it on as background music when i am performing any activity or studying and i need something going on in the back.
