1001 Albums Summary

I’ve always struggled with Queen. No thanks to local classic rock radio. Hearing the same 10 songs over and over again has soured me to an otherwise great band. Needless to say, I wasn’t terribly enthusiastic to get this album on day 1. To my surprise I was quite impressed. Brian May is the undisputed hero on this record. I’ve always heard how great of a player he was but I’ve never paid attention…. until now. Stand out tracks upon first listen are “Now I’m Here” and “Tenement Funster”. I would revisit this album if the desire to listen Queen ever comes up.

This was my intro to bossa nova. It was one of my favorite work albums when I sat and did paperwork all day. And it’s one of my favorite jazz albums. What more can be said!
