1001 Albums Summary

Most songs sound kind of the same except for the second one and the last one (The bends and Street spirit). Melancholic, every song blends together as if being stuck in a line of thought for 48 minutes straight, going over the same feeling over and over again. That's not necessarily a bad thing; in fact, I wouldn't have had it any other way

That was so funky I loved it Except for the second song "A warm summer night". I don't really want to hear "Te quiero, papi" whispered in a seductive voice straight into my ears ever again. Highlights: "My forbidden lover", "What about me", "Good times"

The first songs felt very similar, but they had a nice vibe going. I really, really liked northern star, it had a different sound from the rest. After that song, the album takes a turn for the better Highlights: "Northern star", "Boys on the radio", "Petals"

Sad white boys with a radio filter. Didn't expect the opening and closing songs to be so underwhelming, and the first half of the album is a bit repetitive. I did like some of them, but I wouldn't search them to listen to them again, Is this it: The title describes what you feel when listening to it. Only saved by the cool bassline it has sometimes. The modern age: better than "Is this it", cool guitar solo too. I don't have anything else to say about it tbh, Soma: didn't even realise the song had changed from the previous one. Barely legal: It sounds similar to the previous two, but I liked the chorus better. I also thought it said the N word at some point lol. Someday: nice change of pace (and chords) Alone, Together: variety in the guitar rythms, and a sick solo? Yippee! Also ditches some of the distortion which is much appreciated. Might be my favourite. Last nite: cool bassline. The melody for "when I feel left out" is doing so much to give this song some flavour. Hard to explain: Don't have any strong feelings for this one. One might even say it's hard to explain them. New york city cops: maybe the singer would like some cough drops. The guitar melodies are too cool for a chorus like that. Trying your luck: nice and groovy, my second favourite but i can't stop thinking about how it reminds me of "You really got me going" from the Kinks in the chorus. Take it or leave it: no need to scream it bro. Highlights: "Alone, together", "Trying your luck"

I don't know how she does it but Aretha manages to hit every note with such clarity and power that even if this isn't the kind of music I would usually listen to it's still so fun to do so. Also the groove is grooving with this one. I didn't dislike any song. - 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒇𝒐𝒐𝒍𝒔: cool opening song, really gets you in the mood to dance and forget about the depressing lyrics, which may have been the point. - 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖: so true queen, say it. Had a bit of an abrupt end though. - 𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚: see this is what I mean with variety. It could even be called relaxing if it wasn't constantly making you say "wow" at those high notes. - 𝑵𝒊𝒌i 𝑯𝒐𝒆𝒌𝒚: I'm still trying to make sense of what a boolawee is and then she hits me with the fact that Niki's father is in jail ok ok. -(𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆) 𝑨 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏: The orchestra??? Those violins sound great. -(𝑺𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒚) 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖'𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒆: I love the piano solo in this one. -𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑴𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝑰 𝑨𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖: like a jazz-soul mix, and the last part of the song is full of emotions. - 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑩𝒂𝒃𝒚: reminds me a lot of Twist and Shout cause of the call and response ending in baby. - 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏': yeah that sounds about right - 𝑨𝒊𝒏'𝒕 𝒏𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒚: is that a theremin? If it is it sounds so goofy in contrast with the vocals but it does make it more interesting, like a ghost is joining the ensemble.
