track 1 - corny vocals, cool guitar solo. Wouldn't choose to listen again. 3/10 track 2 - nice intro but again corny vocal. Guitar part is cool. 4/10 track 3 - guitar nice. vocals not as corny as previous. Actually enjoyed 6/10 track 4 - cool guitar solo. Again nice instruments bad vocal. 5/10 track 5 - prob best so far. don't like the theme though. 6/10 track 6 - whack, corny, least cool guitar solo. 4/10 track 7 - fun start, vocal ruins it. nothing special. 4/10 track 8 - a truly forgettable song 3/10 track 9 - pretty cool, but again vocals make it meh 4/10 Overall - Would have worked better as an instrument record. Unfortunately the vocals, both lyrics and delivery, ruin each track. I was not a massive fan. 4/10 Top 3 tracks: 1. The Prisoner 2. The Number of the Beast 3. Hallowed Be Thy Name

Overall, very good! Interesting instrumentation, fun guitar solos, powerful and engaging vocals. Moments of genuine sonic iconicism. Enjoyable record. The 15 tracks felt like a lot. Also contributed to the long runtime of 1hr 22min. Yet, the record was cohesive making it easy to fall into the music and forget that individual songs were playing. 8/10

Funky groove but overall listening experience was relatively average. This aside, the record has clearly had influence on future sonic works. 6/10

Absolute classic!

Some good songs (Purple Rain, Lets Go crazy) but sometimes Prince tries to do too much.

Nostalgia

really disappointing. What could have been a great album is ruined by awful vocals.

It was fine. Cool general vibe but was very repetitive.
