Deja Vu
by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
This record sounds great - really excellent country-fried rock, fun good-time music...for people my dad's age. to my ears it sounds dated, even for its time, compared to other contemporary works that have found more purchase and influence in music in the intervening years. this sounds deliberately of its time. it is really good, it's just stuck in 1970. it doesn't help that i've been hearing songs from this album forever - on the radio, on my dad's stereo, store muzak systems, passing cars, movie soundtracks. personally i am biased towards the pieces with stronger neil young influence, i find his later solo work more compelling than the others.
